Developing a New Perspective in the Study of Religion

Aesthetics of Religion is a new paradigm that connects research approaches on materiality, the body, the senses, media, and religion. From 2015 to 2018, a network of fifteen scholars from Germany and abroad will promote this approach at six conferences and workshops funded by the German Research Fund (DFG). The network emerged from the working group “Aesthetics of Religion” of the German Association for the Study of Religion (DVRW).
